"Come Together"

 There is nothing better to have people Come Together than a turtle release. I was reading the paper this morning when my phone reminded me that I had an event coming up. Brevard Zoo was releasing a turtle at Pelican Park in Satellite Beach. Being about 15 minutes away, I decided to head out to take some photos. There was already a good crowd when I arrived about 15 minutes early.

Other than the large gathering for the release, the beaches were pretty much empty on a Thursday morning around nine.

Nemo was the name of the turtle, the volunteers always have the information and are happy to answer any questions people might have. With school out, there were a lot of kids.

Even the Pelicans were gathering for the release...

Then right on time, Nemo arrived for his release back into the Atlantic. My friend Malcolm is taking photos for the local paper.

Typically for the smaller sea turtles, they walk along the crowd for photos and one last goodbye.

Nemo saw the water and was roaring to go although she walked back up toward us.

When Nemo headed back toward the ocean, the flippers started to pump like she wanted to fly...

When the volunteer got to the water, she turned toward the crowd for one last goodbye...

And then turned toward the ocean and the release which happens quickly and Nemo was gone...

Let's hope Nemo's family will Come Together for its return home.
