Pictures - Old and New
Today I scanned in four more items; these are all old pictures. I think I took two of them and my dad Harold took the other two. The common theme is vehicles. I guess they did not fit in to any previous scan groupings in my simple matrix. I lie, it is a complex matrix. I have scanned almost 6,000 photographs and still have more to do. I am getting down to the oddballs like these four... The first picture was taken by me in 1983. It is a shuttle launch but I am not positive which one. I am guessing the April launch of Shuttle Challenger. What makes this particular photo unique is where I was at launch time. Most launches I went to were NASA passes that got you up close on NASA owned property. This was an Air Force pass which got you onto the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (now it is Air Space Station.) It was actually the closest place the public was allowed. They stopped using it after, this shuttle, blew up in 1986. We were to the SSE of the pad. It was a beautiful launch. The seco
