Reading Q2 2022

Image
Reading for me has continued in 2022; I have read 13 more books in the last four months, so really the post's title should be Q2 plus 1 month. No new Shakespeare plays were read. I do keep track of my reading list in a spreadsheet and also in Goodreads.com. There I can add books I want to read and also make reviews of books I have read. On Goodreads, I have set a goal of 30 books in 2022, and I have read 20 already, putting me ahead of my goal. Here is what I have been reading. Chronicles of Narnia There are a total of seven books in The Chronicles of Narnia , published in the period 1950-1956. In Goodreads, I am keeping track as individual books. In my Bucket List of about 200 books I wish to read, this anthology is considered just one of the books. It was #46 in my list. I am not going to give a review on each of the four books I read to finish off the Chronicles. They are all very similar and have a continuity between books, covering a long period of time in Narnia.  Although I have not been keeping up with my goal for a new restaurant every two weeks, I still have been eating out. Mostly for breakfast or lunch, and when I get the urge, I cook myself something good. Here are a few of the things I have been eating lately. First, a couple of the repeat places I like. The first picture is from the Mulberry Lane Café on US1 in Melbourne. I love their French Benedict, and I am happy that fruit is an option in place of potatoes or grits. This is a croissant with ham and cheese plus the poached egg and hollandaise sauce. I know Long Doggers is a favorite for many things including hot dogs and surfer fare, but I really like their Banzai Shrimp Bowl that comes with a side of sweet plantains. Jasmine rice and black beans are underneath this scrumptious dish. Another place for breakfast is Too Cool Café  in Indian Harbour Beach. Located in an old donut shop, they make a great Savory Crepe. Below is the Ham & Cheese crepe which also has caramelized onion

I was talking to a guy at the bar at Rising Tide at Port Canaveral. As we were chatting, the newest cruise ship,  the Disney Wish, went by embarking on a test cruise. Although not the biggest ship in the world, it is the biggest for Disney Cruise Line. I made the comment that cruise ships were not always so big, and that I had been on a few small ships back in the 1980s. I did catch a picture of the new Disney Wish sitting in port. So, of course, when I got home I started a spreadsheet, In actuality, I already had one for my cruises, I just added another sheet with ship sizes. I have included it here: I have tried, by resizing the photos, and including a rough scale, to show the relative lengths of the ships. I have excluded the Excor from the comparisons.
