"Every Little Thing"

It's been a while since my last post but not much has happened to write about. Every Little Thing I do, I do to fill my stomach with food or alcohol. My food dining bucket list has kind of fell from the forefront of my thoughts. I have been trying to better my eating habits and that includes drinking, to stay healthy enough to live for a while longer. I am rethinking my 2025 goal to be not so "New place" centric but to be more "enjoy many different places." Although I like trying new places, I also like to go back to my favorites.

First, new places. My friends Beth and Don Ferris invited me to a Speakeasy, located in EGAD (Eau Gallie Art District). They had been a few times so I met them and Don's brother David there this past Sunday. They had friends Joe and Phoebe joining us.

It is not a restaurant but a fancy bar, loosely disguised as a Library. You enter into a room, a small library, and you have to find on the shelf a book and bring it to the librarian (Ethan when I went) and he will help you to get your library card. Then voila, you find yourself in a speakeasy. The menu has many drinks to choose from, but these are not the classics but their own concoctions.

Since it was the weekend after Halloween, they were still serving their specials. I have included the menu here.

My first drink was off the regular menu a drink called Guavan A Good Time. It was good. That is Plantain chips on the top.

The view of the bar from my bar stool. My second drink was the Blue Maggot Tea from the Halloween menu. Basically a Long Island Iced Tea served with gummy worms. I forgot to take a picture because I was trying to grab one of the worms before I started the drink.

My third and last drink was the Key Lime Pie Martini. It was very good, a nice way to end my first visit to Lourdes Library. My library card is good for a year so I will go back.

The drinks are not cheap but I had a great time with these "old and new" friends.

I mentioned that I have many favorite places I like to hit once in a while. One is Ichabod's Dockside Bar and Grill in Melbourne.

They have many things I like to order but one of my standbys is the Mahi Reuben, served with chips.

Another favorite in downtown Melbourne id Meg O'Malleys. I use to go more often but now I just get a craving once in a while. They had some new hot sauces...

One of my favorite dishes there is the Shepherd's Pie with a side of cabbage and a dark roll. The Guinness was extra, but they serve it in a real Pint glass, and pour it correctly.

Grabbed this photo from Facebook and sent it to Nancy...

My previous post was about my friend Mac Monroe dying and him being one of my best drinking and eating buddies. The family held a Memorial at the Doubletree in Indiatlantic. It was very nice and I got to meet some of the people I had heard about from Mac but had never met.

After the more formal get together, many of us headed over to Coasters, one of Mac's favorite places. They have a Wall of Fame from when it was Hubbs Pub. You can see my name near the top of the first column. Mac's is in the third column, the first Silver one.

The owner of Coasters let us put up Mac's poster. We all made a toast to Mac, may he Rest in Peace. BTW, it was here that I ran into Don and Beth and they invited me to the Library.

About Title

"Every Little Thing" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their album Beatles for Sale, issued in the UK in December 1964. Credited to Lennon–McCartney, it was written by Paul McCartney. Capitol Records first issued the song in the US on Beatles VI in June 1965. The track is an early example of the Beatles' use of non-rock instrumentation on a recording, through the addition of timpani drum over the choruses.

It always has been one of my favorite Beatles songs.
