As three o'clock approached, as far as I could tell everything was running smoothly. Izzy had finished the guest gifts, frosted his cupcakes, but he was not going to be able to go get the flowers. Lisa, being the greatest wedding organizer, immediately had a backup plan for getting the flowers. The time had come for a wedding. I went into the barn to see what was needed. There was my brother, a very proud father, with his two boys. Jared already married to Sarah, and now Israel getting married to Kayla.

It did not seem that long ago I had taken a similar photo, but with the added benefit of my father Harold being present. He and my mother Stella would have had a hell of a time at this wedding. I am sure they were there in spirit....

I have to share this picture of Israel I took the year he was born....

The large maple tree I had photographed earlier now became a focal point for the guests. The sun was extra hot, no I did not bring the heat with me from Florida, and the shade of the tree was a cool respite. A large container of iced water was provided and it was a nice place to see old friends and new relatives.

My nephew Josh was looking good in his suit and the re-enactment soldiers were getting ready...

For some of you reading this, you may not know that Izzy is a High School History teacher, and he loves to re-enact history. He has traveled the world doing this passion/hobby. I thought it was great that his friends had traveled from all over, dressed in uniforms that were not meant for hot weather, to honor my nephew Israel on his wedding day.

Israel showed up...he had made it through the day without seeing Kayla. Again Lisa did a great job of maneuvering the wedding party around. There was a period where the Barn doors were locked between the Bar and dining area...

The flower girl and ring bearer Nathaniel arrived. Nathaniel was heading down the aisle just great but the flower girl had lost sight of her mom and was not sure what to do...she finally made it okay!

Married at last! |
As the bride and groom were presented for the first time as man and wife, they left the field of play under the arms of the soldiers. I think I had the best spot for this photo, but I missed the last soldier on my left giving the bride a tap on the butt with his sword...well done you two, well done!
