How to fill time in retirement

After I visisted the Cape Cnaveral National Cemetery on Sunday, I decided to stop at the Brix Project for lunch. It is located on US1 just south of Titusville. About a mile south of SR-50 is the Playalinda Brewing Company, and the Brix Project is the dining and tasting room for the brewery. Before I give a score, I can say I will be back again. For people familiar with that area, it is just south of the Eckler's Classic Chevrolet. When I moved to Brevard back in 1979, the Eckler's store was the place to view corvettes, tons of them! About the Brix Project, I will steal from their web page: "Playalinda Brewing Company – Brix Project houses a production and distribution brewery; a full kitchen serving some of the most creative fare on the Space Coast seven days a week; an outdoor Beer Garden; indoor community, private and bar seating; and coming late 2017 – a distillery." Growing up in the small town of Middlebury in the state of Vermont, Memorial Day always signified many things when I was a kid.  It was a great indication that school was about to be done and summer break would soon be starting. Usually, it meant that winter was probably finally over.  And finally, I knew my dad would be marching in the Memorial Day parade down Main Street in Middlebury.  Dad was in the honor guard at the American Legion. It was always a pleasure to see him with his buddies marching down the street. Here in Florida, the city of Melbourne usually holds a parade also.  I have gone the last few years and I have taken photos.  I plan to attend again tomorrow (Monday). But for today, I wanted to see the new National Cemetery that was built in Brevard County.  It is at the northern end located in the small town of Scottsmoor.  There is an entrance right on US 1. I am lucky that I have friends that live in the area, but I still recommend to go over that way some day for a visit. The downtown area is ever changing with great restaurants and stores. They have lots of parks and museums too. My last trip was primarilty to see a Rays game, but I wanted to explore a little more than I have before. I arrived on a Friday afternoon. Teresa lives off of 62nd avenue North. It is away from the city life but a short drive and you can be downtown. Our first excursion was to see the new condo of Tim Short. He has a place within walking distance of the center of the city. Here is a picture of Teresa and Tim in his new condo. Teresa and Tim Tim gave me a nice tour of the place, and we helped him unbox his birthday present, a new toaster oven for his kitchen. It filled the counter but fit perfectly. On my trip to St Petersburg, I was able to attend a baseball game at Tropicana Field. My friend Teresa is a season ticket holder and had invited me to pick out a game or two during the season. I saw they were playing the Yankees in May so I figured that would be a good game to attend. We parked in the same spot as last year, and walked to the game. This game was extra crowded due to it being the Yankees who spring train in Tampa. The give-away was a Hawaiian shirt with the Rays logo on it. Our first stop after entering the game was to go up to the Season Ticket Holder area. I took this picture while waiting for Teresa to use the rest room.
