Reading 2026 - Books 6-10

I am a little behind in my reading goals for the year. I just finished book #10, but I should be at #13 according to Goodreads. Book #10 was the slowest read and I ended up reading the other four books while trying to get through it.

E is for Evidence (#6)

Written by Sue Grafton; published in 1988; 180 pages; BJ Score 2.5 (Good to Great)

This is the fifth book from the Grafton alphabet series. It is part of Book #59 in my bucket list which is to read all 25 books. Another good read about PI Kinsey Millhone.

Unsolved Deaths (#7)

Written by Charles Phillips; published in 2020; 224 pages; BJ Score 2.0 (Good)

This was a non-fiction book on sale at B&N. It had some good items and many I had not read or heard of before. There were also many I knew the Mystery already. I may use the book as a reference...

G is for Gumshoe (#8)

Written by Sue Grafton; published in 1990; 224 pages; BJ Score 2.5 (Good to Great)

This is the seventh book from the Grafton alphabet series; the sixth book was already checked out of the library so I decided to skip one. It is part of Book #59 in my bucket list which is to read all 25 books. Another good read about PI Kinsey Millhone. Yes, the VW Beetle is part of the story.

F is for Fugitive (#9)

Written by Sue Grafton; published in 1989; 187 pages; BJ Score 2.5 (Good to Great)

This is the sixth book from the Grafton alphabet series. I figured I needed to fill in the gap. All the books can be read independently but there is some of the storyline that continues throughout the series. Reading in proper order helps keeping the story straight. As said earlier, this is part of Book #59 in my bucket list... You can tell the books were written a while ago; what is that on the cover, a phone booth?

Dragonfly in Amber (#10)

Written by Diana Gabaldon; published in 1992; 743 pages; BJ Score 3.0 (Great)

Yes, this one was over 700 pages and it took me four months to get through. I really like the stories but for some reason, I have a hard time reading this author. This is the second book of the Outlander Series which contains 10 total novels. I may be able to read only one per year.

I do like the history covered in the stories. This series was recommended both by my niece Lori, and friend Tommy Bumps. I wonder how fast they read them. The books have been made into a Mini-series (see red sticker on cover).

My bucket list is not getting smaller because I keep adding books. There is currently 270 entries in the list with 84 being read. There are 21 I have read and do not plan to read again. There are nine I have read but don't remember much so may read again. That leaves 155 yet to read.

Also, the new Barnes & Noble has opened in West Melbourne. Another place I find books that get added to the bucket list. The new store is smaller than the old, but it is packed with reading materials and even toys. It is a beautiful store. It is normally packed with people too.

Like me, you should keep reading...
