"It Won't Be Long"
At the rate I am visiting restaurants, It Won't Be Long before I reach my goal of 52 different places in 2025. So far I have visited 8 places, two of them NEW. The goal was to revisit a lot of the places I have liked in the past. As the year goes on, I am sure I will start going to repeats which won't count to the total.
Here are three of the latest.
Rising Tides Table & Tap
Probably one of my favorite places at the Port, I have taken a few different visitors to this establishment. I was actually asked to leave early once so Elon Musk and the SpaceX team could have a party. Recently, they changes the menu some but I always like to go for lunch after walking and photographing at Jetty Park.
A few of the beers on the menu including the OBP.
The second beer, which came out with the lunch, was a Crooked Can Florida Sunshine Mango made in Winter Garden.
My lunch, which I normally get, was the Caesar Salad. But it had changed a lot. For years, it was called the Cast Iron Caesar. It had Grilled romaine, white anchovies, shaved parmesan, tellicherry dust, stout-cherry Caesar dressing and cornbread croutons. Now it is called the Tide IPA Caesar. It has chopped romaine hearts, IPA Caesar dressing, thin sliced garlic-paprika croutons, shaved parmesan romano, pickled red onion and fresh cracked tuxedo pepper. I always add some blackened shrimp.
The new one, Tide IPA Caesar...
The old one, Cast Iron Caesar...
I told the bartender Dave, who knows me, that the salad was good but I missed the cherries. He said, "Give me a minute" and went digging in one of the coolers behind the bar. He brought me back a few cherries.
That made my day and I gave Dave an extra four dollars on the tip for the four cherries...
I will still go back, I just probably won't order the Caesar salad anymore... Did I mention they have sixty taps?
Lou's Blues
Everyone knows this is the place I like to drink, but they do have great food and a wings special every Monday. These are the Garlic wings with Cole slaw for the side. My favorite wing sauce in the Mango-Habanero but that is messy. They also have other great food...
Frigate's Waterfront Bar & Grill
This place is close to my home. It use to be a Burger King on the site, now it is a fancy restaurant. I like to sit at the outside bar, near the river. They do have a boat ramp for customers. I usually get sushi. This is the Rainbow Roll.
About Title
"It Won't Be Long" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, released as the opening track on their second UK album With the Beatles (1963), and was the first original song recorded for it. Although credited to Lennon–McCartney, it was primarily a composition by John Lennon, with Paul McCartney assisting with the lyrics and arrangement.
Composition
John Lennon claimed in 1971 and 1980 that he wrote the song. In the 1990s Paul McCartney described the song as dominated by Lennon, but written in collaboration, stating: "John mainly sang it so I expect that it was his original idea but we both sat down and wrote it together." The chorus is a play on the words "be long" and "belong"
Love Rising Tide, cool that the bartender hooked you up with some old cherries... LOL... Frigates seems good but a bit overpriced.... must go there during happy hour. I remember going to the old Burger King that was at that location...
