Dining 2026 - Weeks 5-6

Dining during the last two weeks was some more slim pickings. The weather turned cold and I was not in the mood to eat out. Did some baking at home which adds heat to the house. One morning it was 26 and it was 38 the morning I had my Doctor's appointment. I had to sit in the car for 5 minutes in full defroster mode before I could see out the windows. I could not find my ice scraper. At least the Doctor had good news, most of my numbers were fine and a few went down. I did get out twice to eat which keeps me on my schedule.

First, the simple Stats...

Here are the restaurants added since the last post...

2/4/26 - Thai Thai II - Scored 3.5 (Great to Excellent)

Another of my go-to places when I am craving sushi and I know I will get a great deal. I took the picture of the cool fish lamps above the central dining area. They also have seating where the sushi bar is located.

This place use to be, in the 1980s, a hangout called the Wine Gallery. They usually had live bands and we had a favorite called Brave New Tribe. I remember drinking there but not much about the food. Then it turned into a New Orleans restaurant which had great food. I remember always getting the beignets and a café au lait for dessert. I found a reference to the name "The French Quarter Café" but I thought it was a French female name like Jeannette or Angelina. Does anyone remember?

The next photo is for all the people that do not think I would have anything but a beer for lunch. Yes, it is water. No, it is not vodka.

They have a variety of Bento Box specials for lunch and they come with soup or salad. Of course that is a salad with their special dressing.

Another view of the glass of water for the unbelievers. Did you know that the town of Indiatlantic is a portmanteau of Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. It was originally incorporated as Indiatlantic-By-the-Sea.  They had a population of 3,010 in the 2020 census.

I got the sushi Bento Box. Sic pieces of sushi, a California Roll, and three pieces of a deep fried roll served with Eel sauce. Yummy

2/10/26 - Lily's Mediterranean Fresh Grill - Scored 3.0 (Great)

This was my third visit to this new restaurant also located in Indiatlantic. It is on the Boardwalk and has it's own parking lot that is free that they share with Cold Stone Creamery. It's paid parking along the Boardwalk now. The food is Excellent but I docked my score because they did not have a waitress on this visit. Maybe they do for dinner but not for lunch. This sign was above the table I was sitting. No one else was in the place but it was midweek and almost 2PM.

I ordered the gyro which is a combo of lamb and beef. They had a lunch special with fries and a drink. The drinks are in a cooler of cans which you pick out. I did not ask if they gave refills.. The Gyro was excellent and the fries were freshly cooked. It was a nice lunch...

I need to find a new restaurant within the next two weeks.
