Dining 2026 - Weeks 7-8

Dining out continued during the last two weeks. One new place and three repeats. I am on goal for NEW restaurants and ahead of schedule for Different Restaurants.

First, the simple Stats...

Here are the restaurants added since the last post...

2/17/26 - U Chun Noodle - Scored 3.5 (Great to Excellent)

This was a NEW place that I went to with Nancy on our shopping trip to H-Mart in Orlando. H-Mart is an Asian supermarket with 97 stores around the USA. This Orlando location, located on W Colonial Drive, is currently the only H-Mart in Florida. It opened this past September using a closed  Super Target as its base. The site includes a massive Asian supermarket, a food hall featuring vendors like Myung Ga, Oh K-Dog, and Paik's Noodle, plus a Paris Baguette bakery, and a Korean beauty supply store.

The grand opening featured a traditional lion dance to bring good luck, with lines extending far outside the store. H-Mart is positioned as a key Asian culinary destination in Central Florida, offering fresh produce, premium meats, live seafood, and various household goods.

U Chun Noodle is one of many eateries in the food court. You order at a counter and they flash your order number on a screen when your food is ready. Since I was driving back to Melbourne, I drank bottled water and ordered the K-Bob Chicken which was delicious.

The counter we ordered at in the photo. Nancy requested a stop at the Paris Baguette Bakery as we left the H-Mart. I bought a lot of groceries.

If you have an E-Pass, it is an easy drive across 528 to 417 to 408 to Colonial Drive.

2/19/26 - Long Doggers (Satellite Beach) - Scored 2.5 (Good to Great)

Although I do not have any photos, I had a wonderful dinner with friends Ron, Philine, Emy, Gordon, Fred and Phyllis Riewe. Ron, Emy, Gordon, and Fred all worked at ENSCO when I was there.

For dinner, I ordered the Hatteras Red Lager and the special, a half rack of barbecue ribs which came with fries, Cole slaw, and a piece of cornbread.

Long Doggers is a local chain of restaurants with, I think, seven locations around South Brevard County. This one is located on South Patrick Drive in Satellite Beach. The original one is located in Indiatlantic and is still open.

2/21/26 - Cerrato's Italian Market & Deli - Scored 3.0 (Great)

Although the picture does not do it justice, this Italian sub (called The Mikey on the menu) is big, on fresh made bread, with lots of meats. I got three meals from this one sub. I had ordered it to go but the new owner has added nice tables at the Deli. It is located on New Haven Ave, and according to Florida Today:

It is often described as a hidden gem for authentic Italian-American food in the Melbourne area.

2/25/26 - Bunky's Raw Bar (Suntree) - Scored 3.0 (Great)

Located in Suntree at the location of the old Charley & Jakes, this place, new in Fall 2025, is becoming a nice place for me to stop after a visit to the Zoo. They have the brewery working and they have added a Seafood Happy Hour. I started with a cup of Clam Chowder which was half gone before I took the photo.

They have three tiers of oysters and Tier 1 are only $1.25 each at Happy Hour. These were from Virginia and were delicious, the dozen only $15. They come with cocktail sauce with horseradish plus a container of some kind of malt vinegar with garlic. The beer is brewed in house and is called the Copper Bonnet Lager.

I was still a little hungry so I ordered the Pow-Pow Shrimp, a dish on the Happy Hour Menu. There were nine to start but I ate three before the photo. They were excellent.

My current Dining Spreadsheet has about 440 restaurants, but its been a while since I have checked the status of many. Luckily, the Florida Today is good for articles both on openings and closings of restaurants in Brevard...

Here are the tens for 2026 from my Desire column...
